7. Affordable and clean energy

The goal is to change the way we produce and consume energy. Implementing new energy solutions fast enough is noted to be essential to counter climate changes, and honestly as a company and industry, we have to push the agenda as we know how unsustainable fossil fuels is while renewable solutions are becoming both more reliable and efficient everyday.

7.2 Increase global percentage of renewable energy

Actions taken:

  • By 2030 the goal is to increase the share of renewable energy and promote an increased insight into companies CO2 impact on Scope 1 and 2. In 2021 HORN prepared 2020 as our baseline for future insights into our progress. We will continue to measure our yearly impact in both Scope 1, 2 and 3, and our goal is to be CO2 neutral in 2030, while having reduced our impact in Scope 1 and 2 by 70% before 2025. We will do this by taken the following initiatives:
    • Power Purchase Agreements
    • From gas heating to renewable energy
    • Solar cellars
    • Ongoing transition to electric cars.
  • We will be measuring our impact up against the Science Based Targets.

Our quality principles is based around our awareness that we are responsible for the environment and our customer's health, which is reflected in our product development and procurement of materials.
